Hot Spot Treatment for Chow/Lab Mix?

My dog has a long, dense coat and its never been a problem over the last 5 years until recently. She has really really bad hot spots and has chewed the fur entirely off her rear-end and legs. She does not have a flea problem, we use frontline plus religiously and our other dog is fine. We've tried an e-collar, medicated baths, antihistamines, oatmeal conditioners, you name it. She's been to the vet 3x in the last 6 months. The last time they gave her a steroid shot which worked for about 4 weeks, then she was right back at it, the vet will only administer once every 3 months! I'm going broke trying to solve this!! Any new suggestions?!
Answer:
Often times this can be caused simply due to a lack of omega-3s in their diet. I suggest putting a couple all natural OmegaGuard in their food. Many times it will clear this problem right up within a week or so.Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions.
