How are high blood pressure and anxiety related?
Are high blood pressure and anxiety related, and if so what sort of risk is there.
Answer:
During periods of anxiety blood pressure rises. This is a normal reaction and once the anxiety lessens the blood pressure lowers again. However, if anxiety is a constant state then problems can occur. Think about it. When people are worried or anxious they tend to use props to help them cope - normally these are unhealthy choices like 'comfort' food, drinking more alcohol and smoking more. All things that can increase a persons risk of high blood pressure. Also having periods of high blood pressure caused by anxiety that are prolonged or happen with regular occurence can damage blood vessels, the kidneys and heart. Not good.If you're worried about the effect anxiety is having on your blood pressure then you need to take steps to reduce it.I found these suggestions from here: http://natural-blood-pressure-reduction.1. Focus your attention on one project at a time – Instead of trying to multitask, focus all your attention on completing one task at a time. When your mind is fully absorbed on one task, you put all your mental and emotional efforts into the job at hand, which stops your mind from wondering and becoming overwhelmed with other thoughts, priorities and demands. The more overwhelmed a person feels, the less productive they are, and the more their anxiety grows. 2. Learn to say “No” – If you go out of your way to try and please everyone, you’ll stretch yourself too thin and be living in a constant state of high blood pressure and anxiety. Over-committing yourself stretches you beyond your physical and emotional limits, causing you to become fatigued, stressed, overworked and rundown – all factors that lead to anxiety. You need to learn to say “No” to others who are asking more of your time than you can handle or are willing to give. 3. Limit your alcohol and caffeine intake – Both alcohol and caffeine can worsen anxiety. Therefore, when you are feeling anxious, refrain from ingesting caffeinated products including chocolate, coffee, tea, and soda. In regards to high blood pressure and anxiety and alcohol, one may think that since consuming alcohol reduces feelings of anxiety, this would be an ideal method. The truth is, while alcohol may suppress feelings of anxiety, it increases the risk of high blood pressure and depression. Thus, it is imperative to your health that you never use alcohol as a remedy for relieving anxiety as this can become a bad and deadly habit.4. Breathe Deep – Deep breathing exercises are an excellent way to focus the mind and calm anxiety episodes. Here is one type of deep breathing exercise you can try:
- Take a deep breath by inhaling through your nose and slowly count to four while you inhale.
- Hold your breath for a count of three
- Exhale slowly through your mouth and count down from four while you exhale.
- Repeat four times5. Engage in regular exercise - Exercise is an excellent stress reliever. It helps to clear your mind and improve your mental outlook on life. Exercise helps improve your sleep and increases your physical stamina. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins; chemicals that make your body feel good. Studies have found that people who engage in long term exercise programs (I.E. 30 minutes of daily exercise) increase their ability to cope with stress. Moreover, don’t forget that exercise also helps maintain healthy weight levels, as being overweight increases a person’s risk of hypertension. However, you should first speak to your doctor before engaging in any exercise regimen.Should you have difficulty controlling your anxiety on your own, you may want to speak with your doctor about seeking help from a qualified therapist, because the bottom line is you need to get your high blood pressure and anxiety under control.
Anxiety causes your BP to raise. Some have "white coat syndrome" where everytime they go to the doctor they are so anxious that they report increased BP. Worrying and increase sympathetic stimulation cause increase BP. This is a bit of an oversimplified explanation but should suffice.
Anxiety activates your bodies fight or flight response. Part of this response is dilate your airway while constricting your blood vessels. Additionally, your pulse increases. The compound effect is to increase blood pressure. Furthermore, the body while in this state decreases urine production, this added fluid adds to blood pressure.

How are diabetics suppose to get rid of callus feet?
Answer:
You should see a podiatrist. They are foot specialists and very familiar with diabetic issues. Also, beware of the scam-cure website promoted by the guy above me.
Check with your local pharmacy. There is a cream you can buy to rub on your feet. It's name escapes me at the moment but I have seen it. It would be in the area where you find some of the diabetic supplies. Vitamins, glucose tabs, ect.
Different shoes and socks can help reduce calluses.
Don't bother the calluses. Just watch for any broken skin areas and infections.
Diabetics should be screened yearly for foot problems. See a physician to determine the underlying cause of the callus(es) and what should be done to treat them.
if u visit and learn more u can get good answers.http://thediabeteszone.com/
How are bogeys in the nose formed?
also i notice i get more after eating chicken.any reason for that?many thanks in advance for any info.
Answer:
your after eating chicken "mucus" :)) could be a reaction to the chicken. but if i remeber well fro the anatomy class, "bogeys" are from some membrane which produces mucus to protect the nose, it's a part of the natural filtraton system. i guess
You are being ridiculous!! Try getting a life.
They come from the polluted air we breathe as well as through your sinuses and they can be different colours as well as consistencies and shapes and flavors.~~
Bogeys belong on the golf course, not in your nose!

How are allergies formed?
Answer:
Allergens over stimulate your immune system and sometimes, for some UNKNOWN reason, your immune system not only identifies and destroys the chemical "intruder" but as a side-effect it produces toxic chemicals itself. A common chemical is histamine (hense Anti-histamine meds ex. Claritin and flonase) that is responsible for the symptoms of an allergy.
Up to 20% of the US population are affected by a food allergy resulting in diarrhea, nausea and upset stomach. Contact dermatitis (I think thats how you spell it?) is an allergy to a chemical coming in contact with your skin, such as a certain brand of soap, detergent or shower gel. Your symptoms will probably appear in the form of an itchy rash. The long and short of it... sometimes your born with an allergy and grow out of it and sometimes they just show up...In an allergic reaction the immune system mistakenly interprets a harmless substance as a harmful one. The immune system responds by producing antibodies. These antibodies are designed to help neutralize specific parasitic invaders and protect the person from future exposures. Upon first exposure to an allergen, no allergic symptoms develop. But when the person is exposed to the same substance at a later time, the antibodies against the allergen activate an allergic reaction. Allergy symptoms may include itching, sneezing, a stuffy nose, watery eyes, swelling of the airways in the lungs and wheezing (asthma), and even allergic shock and death in RARE situations.
I don't know that answer but I know I hate them. I also hate food allergies like shrimp. I think I have a new one Peanut Butter. The trick is that I was eating them fine before.
How and why do we get ingrown hairs? I get them on my upper arms? Any ideas?
Answer:
your got ingrowing hair because dead skin are blocking your pore were your hair grow so the best way to get rid of them are to expoilate and try a web site (howtogetridofstuff.com) good luck hope i helped.
That happens alot especially if you shave, it is just the hair that grows the wrong direction, and really there isnt much to do for them except keep it clean so it doesnt become infected
Try to exfoliate the areas where they are coming up. Everyday if possible. This should help them to clear up.
How and where is infectious medical waste from hospitals and clinics disposed of?
Answer:
It depends on what type of waste it is. I have included a link for you to check out since there are many different classifications of biohazardous waste, and a different way to dispose of each one.
Many hospitals send their waste to be incinerated. Some pay for it to be hauled off to landfills.
all medical waste is burned in the united states. some are donated to science.
I believe in the US medical waste in bio hazard is burned.
i asked the same question to my doctor when i had my leg amputate and he told me they burn it
It's incinerated
